Job Title: NAP Electrical Drafter

Location: RAE Corporation, Pryor, Oklahoma

Role Overview:

The NAP Electrical Drafter is responsible for developing specifications, diagrams, and instructions for the installation of electrical equipment used to conduct electrical energy for HVAC and refrigeration equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Drafting and Design:
    1. Use AutoCAD Electrical, technical handbooks, tables, calculators, Excel, and Computer Aided 2D Design & Drafting.
    2. Design electrical schematics and panel layouts for industrial-grade refrigeration units, panel layouts, and determine enclosure sizes.
    3. Create and maintain electrical components library in AutoCAD Electrical.
    4. Using AutoCAD Electrical to create detailed Bill of Materials based on project requirements.
    5. Incorporate redlines, field feedback, and change orders into final manufacturing drawings.
    6. Maintain drawing consistency, accuracy, and revision control requirements.
  2. Collaboration and Problem-Solving:
    1. Ability to work collaboratively with electrical engineers, mechanical designers, and manufacturing teams
    2. Work as a team member with other departments to plan and execute activities.
    3. Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordinating design intent and revisions
    4. Ability to ask clarifying questions and resolve design issues proactively
  3. Compliance and Safety:
    1. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
    2. Ensure proper documentation of technical data consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
    3. Comply with government regulations, laws, company policies, and procedures.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 – 5 years of experience in electrical drafting with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLA or similar software.
  • Desired Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CAD Software.
  • Knowledge of electrical schematics, motor controls, control systems, and other electrical principles.
  • Knowledge and application of NEC, UL508A, UL1995, UL60335-2-40, NFPA 70E
  • Ability to work independently and proactively drive tasks to completion.
  • Ability to interpret engineering documents, sequences of operation and control narratives.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective written communication skills.
  • Multi-tasking abilities and basic computer skills, including understanding of PLCs.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Experience with panel shops and equipment manufacturing.

Interaction with Others:

Reports to Director Engineering, National Accounts. Works closely with Engineering, Production, and other departments. It is essential to demonstrate a spirit of cooperation and teamwork with all employees of the RAE team.

Working Environment:

The job is conducted primarily in a climate-controlled office setting, with occasional exposure to the manufacturing environment, including moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
