Job Title: Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) – Behavioral Health
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11206
Job Type: Contract

Compensation:

  • Local Rate: $90–$97/hour (approximately $3,637.50/week)

  • Travel Rate: $3,959.50/week

Schedule

  • 40 hours per week

  • 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday

  • Approved agency public holidays not included

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced and driven Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support the Behavioral Health department at a healthcare facility in Brooklyn, NY. This leadership role plays a key part in advancing quality improvement initiatives, supporting nursing leadership, and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care within a behavioral health setting.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical expertise, effective leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence in behavioral health services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and implement initiatives to improve patient care outcomes and nursing staff performance.

  • Monitor, analyze, and evaluate patient care performance metrics in collaboration with Nurse Managers.

  • Conduct unit assessments and implement corrective actions to address identified gaps.

  • Develop, maintain, and oversee documentation and tracking systems related to medication errors and staff counseling.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and ongoing guidance to nursing staff within the Behavioral Health department.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.

  • Minimum of 7 years of nursing experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with Primary Source Verification through the New York State Department of Education (NYSED).

  • Current BLS certification.

  • Demonstrated experience working in a Behavioral Health setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
