Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of ED experience and working night shifts with every-other-weekend rotation.

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a 97-bed Magnet-designated acute care hospital
  • Patient ratio of 1:3
  • Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call required
  • Floating may be required between two campus locations (Belleville and Shiloh) and to inpatient units during slow periods
  • Charting via Epic (experience required)
  • Parking is free

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license required; pending IL license may be accepted — note status at time of consideration
  • Active MO RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 1 year of ED nursing experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • Preferred certifications: PALS and TNCC
  • BLS required (standard for RN positions)
  • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • Strong teamwork, customer service, and communication skills

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include working fast-track, triage, and high-acuity patients
  • RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
  • Navy scrubs required
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Travelers may work at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
