Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of ED experience and working night shifts with every-other-weekend rotation.
Details
- Work in the Emergency Department of a 97-bed Magnet-designated acute care hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:3
- Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call required
- Floating may be required between two campus locations (Belleville and Shiloh) and to inpatient units during slow periods
- Charting via Epic (experience required)
- Parking is free
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required; pending IL license may be accepted — note status at time of consideration
- Active MO RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 1 year of ED nursing experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Preferred certifications: PALS and TNCC
- BLS required (standard for RN positions)
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Strong teamwork, customer service, and communication skills
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include working fast-track, triage, and high-acuity patients
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
- Navy scrubs required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Travelers may work at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
