We are currently seeking a qualified individual for the Production Supervisor position, joining our Jackson, OH team!

  • SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday approximately 45+ hours a week
  • HOURS: 7:00am-5:00pm
    • Hours are subject to change based on business demands

Job Summary:This role has the primary responsibility to supervise and coordinate activities of production personnel by planning, directing and managing production; processes, personnel, and budget to achieve Company and Departmental goals. Establish, train and manage key performance metrics to maximize departmental output.
Managing & Scheduling of Raw Materials

  • Integrated business planning for peeling room production operations, scheduling shipments, establishing priorities, and sequences for manufacturing chip products.
  • Responsible for preparing operational schedules and coordinating manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications, including working with Supply Chain on regional and varietal needs.
  • Oversee the quality of raw materials received, including managing the unloading process and completing required documentation.
  • Monitor all pricing and payments to brokers

Process Improvement:

  • Analyzes departmental problems, proactively develops, and implements new solutions, and assists in increasing business growth.
  • Tracks key performance metrics and appropriately follows up with team and individuals demonstrating accountability.
  • Sets department and individual goals and tracks progress, communicating timely with individuals and team about goal performance.
  • Oversees and managers root cause analysis related to shift and department and makes appropriate determinations and recommendations.
  • Develops SOPs when needed or appropriate. Holds team accountable for performance.
  • Develop and implement processes to meet customer satisfaction goals.

Personnel Oversight and Management:

  • Directly supervise a total of 15+ employees
  • Ensure the adequate training of personnel.
  • Hires, trains and manages the budgeted staffing for the department (full time, part time, and/or seasonal).
  • Plans and organizes schedules, training and daily responsibilities.
  • Completes production operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Assesses individual performance, completing performance evaluations and communicating individual development plans.
  • Provides thoughtful and constructive coaching to individuals to improve performance and optimize individual and team contributions.
  • Maintains good communication with team to ensure a focus on key priorities and metrics while maintaining employee engagement.
  • Enforce all manufacturing safety regulatory policies and procedures, thus ensuring that all health and safety guidelines are followed.
  • Ensure all employees make safety the priority by having safety conversations and demonstrating through actions his/her commitment to safety.

Administrative Oversight

  • Develops and implements communication strategy for area of oversight.
  • Demonstrates collaborative approach with other departments and employees
  • Safeguards production operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Maintains physical condition of production by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Manage production to maintain safe working environment and meet safety goals

Reliable attendance and punctuality are also required. The employee is also expected to perform other related duties, special projects and functions as required from time to time. Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (A.A) or equivalent from two – Year College or technical school; and/or 2-4 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred but not required.
  • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
  • Strong decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must possess a stable work history with good references.

The employee must have vision corrected to 20/30 or better with normal depth perception and peripheral vision.
