Position Summary
The Safety Coordinator supports the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program by managing day-to-day safety administration, field-level support, training coordination, and incident documentation. This role focuses on execution, follow-through, and field presence, allowing the Safety Manager to focus on strategic safety initiatives, regulatory compliance, audits, claims management, and budgeting.
This position will be regionally based, in Memphis, TN or St. Louis, MO, to support high-activity markets and reduce travel burden across the organization.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Incident Management & Documentation
- Assist with incidents, documentation, and follow-up
- Coordinate initial incident investigations, witness statements, photos, and documentation
- Track corrective actions and verify completion
- Maintain OSHA logs (300, 300A, 301) under direction of the Safety Manager
- Support recordability determinations by gathering required facts and timelines
Field & Facility Safety Support
- Conduct routine field safety visits at customer sites and company facilities
- Perform job-site observations, PPE checks, and vehicle inspections
- Support pre-task planning, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and hazard assessments
- Assist with implementation and verification of corrective actions
Training & Orientation Support
- Coordinate safety training, certifications, and refreshers
- Assist with onboarding safety orientations for new hires
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with customer requirements
- Support development and distribution of safety communications and toolbox talks
Program Administration
- Maintain safety documentation, procedures, and records
- Assist with contractor safety packages and customer compliance submissions
- Support safety committee logistics, meeting documentation, and follow-up actions
- Track safety metrics and prepare summary reports
Collaboration & Communication
- Serve as a field-facing safety resource for technicians and supervisors
- Coordinate closely with HR on incident documentation and return-to-work support
- Escalate significant safety concerns and trends to the Safety Manager
Travel Requirements
- 20–30% regional travel, primarily supporting branch locations and customer sites
- Location selection will be based on operational needs and travel efficiency
Ideal candidate will possess:
-Experience carrying out safety coordination in the material handling or intralogistics spaces
-Experience with forklift safety standards
-Bachelor's degree in safety, EHS, or related field
Minimum Qualifications
-1+ year experience carrying out safety coordination in a professional setting
-High school diploma
-Ability to travel 10%-15% of the year
