About The Job:

Clinic Registered Nurse is a professional nursing position that serves as a resource nurse who provides quality patient care and is a patient advocate. The Specialty Clinic RN provides outpatient care to outreach clinics, general surgery clinic and podiatry clinic as directed and schedules surgeries as necessary. The Specialty Clinic RN will work as the coordinator of cardiac testing services and is responsible for directing, integrating, and coordinating nursing services for treadmill stress testing, nuclear stress testing, and stress echocardiograms at Mitchell County Regional Health Center. Specialty Clinic RN provides nursing care to various specialties as requested in the Specialty Clinic. Must have knowledge of the surgical process and normal postoperative courses of surgical patients. Assists with surgical procedures in the clinic.

The Shift: Part-Time (.9 FTE) (36 hours per week)

Hours: Works Monday through Friday.

Pay: $30.54, increases with experience.

Qualifications

1. Education:
1. Graduate of a school of nursing is required.
2. A current Iowa License as a Registered Nursing is required.
3. BCLS and ACLS certification required.
4. EKG Advanced Rhythm class required within 60 days of hire.
5. Mandatory Reporting Child/Adult required within 60 days of hire.
2. Experience:
1. 3-year clinical experience in an acute care setting with critical care experience preferred.
2. Surgical background preferred.
3. Ideal candidate will have knowledge of the surgical process and normal postoperative courses of surgical patients.
3. Special Skills and Aptitudes:
1. Knowledge of stress testing principles and guidelines including stress echocardiograms and nuclear medicine stress testing procedures or willing to train.
2. Advanced knowledge of interpreting cardiac arrhythmias and recognizing ischemic changes on EKG or willing to train.
3. Knowledge of cardiac pathophysiology, pharmacology, disease process, and current treatment plans.
4. Knowledge and use of specialized equipment (cardiac monitors, treadmill, defibrillator, and accessories) or willing to train.
5. Strong communication skills and independent decision-making skills.

Who We Are:

Mitchell County Regional Health Center is in Osage, Iowa located in Mitchell County, which has a population of 10,600 people. MCRHC is a 25-bed critical access hospital, including a Level 4 Trauma Center Emergency Room seeing 3,200 visits annually. The Surgical Services department performs over 1,300 procedures annually, including specialties General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, Pain management, and Podiatry.
