1. Coordinates the sourcing and scheduling of nurses for patient visits for the assigned office(s).
2. Tasks include ensuring authorizations are documented, completed visits are verified in EMR, submission of confirmed visit codes to billing and outsourced nursing invoices to accounting, manages the plan of treatment/nursing order tracking for prescriber signature.
3. Sends referral data and associated orders for new patients to assigned nurse or outsourced agency.
4. Creates service codes for new patients in EMR, processes visit verifications, correct failed verifications, and review rejected verifications.
5. When a payor change occurs, updates new services in EMR, adds new authorization number, new service, new payor on the new service code, and correct bill codes.
6. Tracks timely submission of outsourced nursing agency notes and submits invoices weekly to accounting.
7. Reviews outsourced notes and invoices for accuracy of time and billing rates against contract.
8. Enters data into EMR in a timely manner and ensures that data is accurate and complete.
9. Maintains the medical records in an organized manner following established procedures.
10. Electronically records data for collection, storage, analysis, retrieval, and reporting.
11. Identifies any missing documentation in the EMR and reports to supervisor.
12. Ensures timely reimbursement for skilled nursing and ancillary services by making sure all provided services are authorized by payor.
13.Oversees the initiation and renewal of nursing visit authorizations, processing of outsourced nursing agency documentation and invoices.
14. Notifies clinical staff of number of visits authorized by payor and works with reauthorization team to obtain additional completes re-authorization as needed.
15. Tracks plan of treatment after development by RN as well as other nursing orders for prescriber signature. Utilizes sales team to obtain timely signatures as needed.
16. Protects patient health information for confidentiality, authorized access for treatment, and data security.
