POSITION: Supply Specialist II

Founded in 2014, DWS Energy is a rapidly expanding, multi-disciplinary electrical construction company focused on commercial and battery storage (new construction and operations & maintenance), building controls wiring, and electrical pre-fabrication solutions in our UL-508A certified panel shop. The organization has expanded its service offerings throughout its tenure and continues to grow at an accelerated rate.



OVERVIEW:

The Supply Specialist II Industrial rolewill be responsible for managing more complex supply chain and procurement activities within the industrial prefab shop. This role involves overseeing the timely and accurate delivery of materials and components required for the assembly of Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) racks and panels used in the oil and gas field. The Supply Specialist II will work closely with the Procurement Manager to optimize inventory levels, track shipments, coordinate with suppliers, and mentor junior staff.



DUTIES: The duties and responsibilities of the Supply Specialist II may include but are not limited to:


  • Optimize inventory levels and implement strategies to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Assist in the processing of purchase orders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and resolve complex issues.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials for quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive records of inventory, orders, and deliveries.
  • Participate in and lead in the shipping and receiving of materials, ensuring accurate documentation and timely distribution to the assembly team.
  • Assist in and lead the building kits to be distributed to production areas.
  • Load and unload trucks to ensure materials are safely and efficiently transported.
  • Participate and lead regular inventory and spot counts to ensure accuracy and accountability of stock levels.
  • Safely operate and train employees in the safe operation of pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Assist in gathering data for reports on inventory status, order progress, and supplier performance.
  • Ensure the assembly team has the necessary materials and components to maintain uninterrupted workflow.
  • Adhere to and enforce safety protocols and guidelines within the prefab shop.
  • Mentor and train junior supply specialists to develop their skills and knowledge.

QUALIFICATIONS: The following are required skills and qualifications:


  • Associate's degree or equivalent; additional education or certification in supply chain management or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a warehouse, supply chain or procurement role, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Certification or experience in operating pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment is preferred.





REQUIREMENTS: The following are physical requirements:


  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a shop environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights as needed.
  • Ability to operate and handle machinery and equipment safely.
  • Occasional travel to supplier locations may be required.
