Quality Inspector | Wayland, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify product conformance to specifications.
• Document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed quality records.
• Identify and report non-conforming materials or products, initiating corrective action requests as necessary.
• Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections according to control plans and work instructions.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, procedures, and customer requirements.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent observational skills for identifying defects.
• Basic understanding of quality control principles and manufacturing processes.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for documenting and reporting findings.

Bonus Qualifications

• Advanced GD&T interpretation skills.
• Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) or other automated inspection equipment.
• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) concepts and charting.
• Lean or Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification.
• Experience contributing to root cause analysis investigations.
