JOB TITLE: Data Systems Specialist


Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Status: Non - exempt

Reports to: Information Systems Director


JOB SUMMARY: The Data Systems Specialist is a member of the Information Systems team at Spectra Health. They work to find solutions to organize raw data across all Spectra platforms and house it in a way to make the data usable and reportable. They will work with end users within Spectra to determine what data the end users need and find workflows and processes that will allow the capture and organization of that data. The Data Systems Specialist will report directly to the Information Systems Director.

  • Policy adherence & compliance champion: Strictly adhere to all Spectra Health policies and procedures, and act as a departmental advocate for Spectra Health's Compliance Program activities.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Work closely with various teams to understand business requirements and implement Microsoft 365 solutions that enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the platform
  • Possess and maintain a broad knowledge of healthcare information systems and applications
  • Able to manage and store healthcare data in a matter that meets compliance requirements
  • Act as a liaison to Supervisors and departments to facilitate optimal use of applications
  • Identify workflows and processes that could be automated to improve data collection
  • Ensure that organizational data is collected and stored in a manner that allows for the creation and use of the data for reporting and analysis
  • Researches, analyzes and makes recommendations for workflow improvements to increase data collection and validity
  • Utilize tools and utilities like API's to integrate and automate data aggregation across different internal platforms
  • Other duties as assigned by the Information Systems Director.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • 1+ Years of experience with Microsoft 365 Administration Consoles
  • 2+ Years of experience in a help desk setting
  • Two-year degree in a related field (Information Technology, Information Systems)
  • 1+ Years of experience with Microsoft Power Automate
  • Understanding of general database principles
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience in a healthcare setting

Preferred:

  • 3+ Years of experience with Microsoft 365 Administration Consoles
  • 4+ years of experience in a help desk setting
  • 1+ Years of experience with Power BI
  • 1+ Years of experience of implementing automation into routine workflows
  • Four-year degree in a related field (Information Technology, Information Systems)


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The Data Systems Specialist position is primarily a desk job that requires the ability to sit for long periods of time (up to 8 hours) at a desk or workstation. Periodically, the position requires lifting or carrying items that would be appropriate in an office environment, not more than 20lbs.
