We are seeking an experienced electrical engineering technician for our manufacturing plant in Guilford, CT.

This position is an integral part of the engineering team in a job shop type environment with broad diversity in the day to day assignments.

This is not an entry level position.

Potential candidates must have proven track record of applicable industrial experience.

This is a perfect fit for someone who enjoys variety in their day to day schedule.

Daily assignments would involve providing support to the production departments which may include:

Diagnosing & repairing electrical system problems on printing presses, converting machinery, material handling & other support equipment + provide occasional facility related support .

Propose and/or build & install machine modifications, upgrades and retrofits for existing equipment.

Prepare electrical maintenance schedules for existing and future equipment, if needed.

Manage electrical spare part inventory for existing and future equipment, as needed.

Install, maintain & support camera inspection systems as needed.

Maintain & support corona treatment systems as needed.

Troubleshoot ink management and UV curing systems as needed.

This candidate must:

a) Provide support as needed to a production operation.

b) Be proficient in the use of measuring instrumentation – VOM, ammeter, oscilloscope, etc.

c) Have a working knowledge of AC, DC, stepper & servo motors, drives and controllers.

d) Be proficient troubleshooting circuits with power supplies, relays, motors, drives and various field devices such encoders, resolvers, micro switches, potentiometers, sensors (inductive, capacitive & photoelectric), etc.

e) Must understand fuse types and usages.

f) Be proficient in modifying schematics as needed to reflect changes.

g) Be proficient in generating from scratch schematics for small panels.

h) Have a working knowledge of panel building for small capital projects.

i) Be able to make breadboard simulations as needed.

j) Comply with NEC and OSHA standards for all installation assignments.

k) Be comfortable working with voltages up to 480vac and up to 180vdc

l) Provide guidance to electricians and other outside contractors when needed for machinery and facility support.

Component level troubleshooting is a plus.

Working knowledge of PLC & HMI (MMI, UI, OIT) programming is also a plus.
