Position Overview:
Oversee all Front End operations, including the Service Center, Self-Checkout, and Food Lion To-Go (if applicable). Lead a team, ensuring smooth operations, excellent customer service, and achieving business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the hiring, training, and development of associates to meet department needs.
- Supervise performance, conduct regular performance appraisals, and provide ongoing training.
- Promote a positive store culture aligned with our Brand, Strategy, and Culture.
- Support financial targets, operational goals, and Food Lion To-Go KPIs.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a fast, friendly, and flexible shopping experience.
- Model outstanding service, providing solutions to meet customer needs.
- Control store expenses through careful ordering and management of supplies and equipment.
- Utilize company tools (financial reports, inventory systems, scheduling, etc.) to monitor and improve operations.
- Ensure high standards of department appearance, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety.
- Write Front End schedules, including Food Lion To-Go, to meet customer service expectations.
- Maintain registers, equipment, and initiate service calls efficiently to minimize disruption.
- Monitor shrinkage, inventory, and ensure accurate handling of store funds and assets.
- Observe and correct unsafe conditions to prevent accidents.
- Record and report accidents following company procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all regulations and company policies.
- Complete required training, including Computer-Based Training (CBT).
- Recognize achievements and provide coaching to improve customer satisfaction and sales.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong knowledge of store operations and merchandising.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to learn and apply technical skills and job requirements.
- Must meet physical requirements of the job, with or without accommodations.
- Certification as a Food Safety Manager (or must be obtained within 90 days of employment).
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent use of computers and smart devices.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 100 lbs.
- Push or pull up to 2000 lbs. with a pallet jack or float.
- Tolerate working in varying temperatures.
- Strong visual ability for checking invoices, dates, and other documents.
