HVAC Service Technician

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Pay: $26.00 - $45.00 per Hour (Experience Dependent)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, maintain, and service commercial HVAC systems throughout the Phoenix market. This role is responsible for troubleshooting equipment issues, performing preventative maintenance, completing repairs, and ensuring customers receive exceptional service while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship.

The ideal candidate has strong commercial HVAC experience, excellent diagnostic abilities, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced service environment. This individual will serve as a trusted technical resource for customers while helping maintain critical mechanical systems in a variety of commercial facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment and associated mechanical systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance on rooftop units, split systems, chillers, air handlers, pumps, boilers, and related equipment
  • Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner
  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and recommend effective repair solutions
  • Inspect, test, and adjust HVAC systems to optimize performance and efficiency
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and mechanical schematics
  • Document service activities, equipment conditions, repairs, and maintenance recommendations
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, manufacturer specifications, and safety standards
  • Communicate effectively with customers, facility managers, and internal teams regarding system issues and repair options
  • Maintain service vehicle inventory, tools, parts, and equipment
  • Support emergency service calls and after-hours work when required
  • Promote a strong safety culture and adhere to OSHA standards and company policies
  • Build long-term customer relationships through professionalism, technical expertise, and responsive service

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of commercial HVAC service experience
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for commercial HVAC equipment
  • Experience servicing rooftop units, air handlers, chillers, boilers, VAV systems, and related mechanical equipment

Preferred

  • 3+ years of commercial HVAC service experience
  • Experience working in healthcare, manufacturing, education, mission-critical, or industrial facilities
  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controls
  • Chiller and boiler service experience
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
