Location: Remote, with travel

Our client is seeking a Vice President-level Business Development professionals to help grow its Bankruptcy Services business, including claims and noticing agent services. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bankruptcy attorney who want to leverage their Chapter 11 expertise and professional relationships in a more entrepreneurial, client-facing role.

This position is ideal for current or former bankruptcy professionals who understand the Chapter 11 lifecycle and are interested in transitioning from traditional legal practice into a consultative business development and advisory role. Prior formal sales experience is helpful but not required.

The Role

You will focus on relationship development, market coverage, and strategic origination within the Chapter 11 ecosystem. Success in this role is driven by credibility with debtor-side lawyers, a strong understanding of bankruptcy administration needs, and the ability to identify where our client's services add value in complex restructuring matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with debtor-side law firms, financial advisers, fiduciaries, and other restructuring professionals
  • Serve as a trusted resource to attorneys by identifying tailored bankruptcy administration solutions
  • Originate new business within Chapter 11 and restructuring engagements through targeted outreach and existing professional networks
  • Participate in client meetings, pitch discussions, and RFPs, using bankruptcy expertise to support decision-making
  • Partner closely with internal service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and successful case execution
  • Support client relationships throughout the life of a case to encourage repeat engagements
  • Stay current on bankruptcy law developments, market trends, and competitive offerings

Qualifications

  • Chapter 11 experience is required, with prior debtor-side law firm exposure strongly preferred
  • Background as a bankruptcy associate, counsel, partner, or restructuring professional
  • Strong professional network within the bankruptcy and restructuring community
  • Commercial mindset and interest in business development and origination
  • Highly credible with attorneys and senior professionals
  • JD strongly preferred, though not required with sufficient bankruptcy experience

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $250,000 to $285,000 plus commission
  • Comprehensive benefits package designed to support employee well-being, including health insurance with $0 deductible options, dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan. Employees commonly receive paid time off (approximately 15 PTO days, 40 sick hours, and 2 floating holidays), along with flexible work-from-home options
