Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
Location: Eureka, CA
Assignment Type: 13-Week Contract
Schedule: Day Shift | 5x8-hour shifts
Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) for a 13-week contract assignment in a hospital laboratory setting. The CLS will perform a wide range of complex diagnostic testing, ensure accuracy of results, maintain quality control standards, and support timely clinical decision-making that directly impacts patient care.

This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform complex laboratory testing and specimen analysis across multiple disciplines
  • Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment
  • Ensure accuracy of test results through established quality control and quality assurance procedures
  • Process, handle, and prepare patient specimens in compliance with safety standards
  • Maintain adherence to laboratory safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Document and report laboratory findings accurately within laboratory information systems
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff regarding test results and interpretations
  • Support inventory management, reagent preparation, and supply tracking
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and competency assessments

Required Qualifications

  • Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) certification/licensure in accordance with state requirements
  • Strong understanding of clinical laboratory procedures and diagnostic methodologies
  • Knowledge of quality control, quality assurance, and laboratory safety standards
  • Proficiency in operating laboratory analyzers and related equipment
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting
  • Experience in high-volume laboratory environments
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving abilities
