Job DescriptionPart-Time LPN (Neuro) - Mercy Jefferson Overview:
This part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) role at our organization focuses on delivering specialized care within the Neuro/Pulmonary Stroke Unit, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN). Key responsibilities encompass conducting patient assessments, coordinating care, and providing support for intricate pulmonary and neurological conditions, including COPD, stroke, and TIA.

Utilizing the nursing process, you will deliver patient care under the supervision of licensed professionals authorized to prescribe medications and treatments, or under the direction of an RN. You will maintain accountability for the care provided to your assigned patients, coordinating with various departments while upholding patient rights and confidentiality.
Position Highlights:

- Graduate LPN: $3,000
- Experienced LPN: $4,000
- Neuro LPN:
- Hours: 24 hours per week, Nights
- Location: Mercy Hospital Jefferson, Festus, MO 63028
The Neuro/Pulmonary Stroke Unit:
Common pulmonary conditions treated include COPD, respiratory failure, asthma, and pneumonia. Patients in this unit may require high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, or have tracheostomies or chest tubes. These individuals necessitate thorough assessments, proactive therapies, and constant nursing oversight.
We collaborate closely with the Stroke Coordinator to manage Acute Stroke and TIA patients, occasionally utilizing tele-neuro services. Neuro patients require regular evaluations to detect subtle changes in their condition, and we provide education on stroke awareness.
Qualifications:
- Education: Practical Nursing Degree from an accredited institution
- License: Current LPN license in the state or the ability to obtain it within 90 days
- Certifications: Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association, IV Certification within one year
