We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse distribution with a focus in receiving and be proficient in operating various types of heavy equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient movement of materials and products throughout our facility, contributing to our overall operational success.
Duties
- Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and other heavy equipment to load and unload materials safely.
- Perform order picking tasks using RF scanners to ensure accurate inventory management.
- Assist in shipping and receiving operations, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols, including OSHA standards.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and efficiency within the distribution center.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper mechanical function and safety compliance.
- Handle materials with care, including heavy lifting as required for various tasks.
- Support the implementation of warehouse management systems for effective tracking of inventory.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehouse operations or distribution is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, and other materials handling equipment.
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving processes and warehouse management systems.
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow safety protocols diligently.
- Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high productivity levels.
- Ability to lift heavy loads consistently throughout the shift.
