Job Title: Packaging Technician
Job Description
The Packaging Technician supports packaging operations in a cleanroom environment by assembling, labeling, and inspecting finished goods to meet quality and regulatory standards. This role involves working on packaging lines, performing both automated and manual packaging tasks, maintaining accurate documentation, and following strict procedures for gowning, safety, and good manufacturing practices.
Responsibilities
- Complete required training modules on proper gowning techniques for entering and exiting designated cleanroom and controlled areas.
- Operate packaging lines, including the assembly, disassembly, preparation, and adjustment of labeling and packaging machinery according to established procedures.
- Carefully cut and prepare eye dropper bottles so that internal microbiology personnel can accurately read and process them.
- Visually inspect labels and packaged finished goods to verify they meet all specifications and quality standards.
- Perform manual labeling and packaging of finished goods when automated machinery is unavailable or not in use.
- Ensure accurate and compliant documentation by recording, maintaining, and organizing batch records, forms, documents, and logbooks for all responsible areas.
- Label and dispose of hazardous waste from the packaging floor in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations.
- Assist other team members in manufacturing areas when additional support is needed to meet production goals.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including tools and inspection/packaging machines, to support efficient operations.
- Adhere strictly to applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and ISO rules and regulations related to the position.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor to support overall production and quality objectives.
Essential Skills
- Ability to learn and follow detailed gowning procedures for work in cleanroom and controlled environments.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to assemble, disassemble, and adjust labeling and packaging machinery with guidance.
- Strong attention to detail for visual inspection of labels and finished goods to ensure they meet specifications.
- Ability to perform repetitive manual labeling and packaging tasks with consistency and accuracy.
- Capability to follow written procedures and maintain good documentation practices for batch records, forms, documents, and logbooks.
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn, proper handling, labeling, and disposal procedures for hazardous waste.
- Commitment to follow SOPs, GMP, and ISO requirements and to work in a highly regulated environment.
- Effective teamwork skills to assist colleagues in packaging and manufacturing areas as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work assigned shift hours reliably and punctually.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- No prior experience is necessary; training is provided.
- Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry is helpful and considered an asset.
- Experience with packaging, labeling, and assembly tasks is beneficial.
- Familiarity with cleanroom practices and working in controlled environments is a plus.
- Comfort with handling documentation and following regulated processes in a production setting.

Work Environment
This role is based in a cleanroom and controlled production environment, where strict gowning and hygiene procedures apply. You work on packaging lines with labeling and packaging machinery, as well as perform manual labeling and packaging tasks when needed. The position follows structured Standard Operating Procedures within GMP and ISO-regulated operations. Work is performed on a defined shift schedule, with one option on a daytime shift and another on an afternoon-to-evening shift. The environment requires consistent attention to cleanliness, organization, and safe handling of materials, including proper labeling and disposal of hazardous waste.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
