Our urgent care is seeking an experienced and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in both clinical and administrative tasks, with a compassionate and professional demeanor.
Responsibilities:
- Perform clinical duties including drawing blood, taking vitals, assisting with procedures, capturing X-rays, and processing lab samples.
- Coordinate preoperative clearances with outside surgeon offices and manage workers' compensation cases.
- Prepare and organize charts for patients, identifying current medications, allergies and conditions.
- Conduct follow-ups with patients to ensure continuity of care.
- Cross-train with front desk staff to assist with patient check-ins, answering phones, and scheduling.
- Maintain accurate documentation using electronic health records and Google Drive/Docs.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a Medical Assistant in an urgent care or similar healthcare setting.
- BXMO certification is required or must be obtained within 45 of hire.
- Proficiency in phlebotomy, vitals, and assisting with medical procedures.
- Strong communication skills with a welcoming, compassionate, and professional demeanor.
- Highly organized, punctual, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Technologically savvy with proficiency in Google Docs, Drive, and general office software.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems independently.
- Relevant certifications are encouraged, including phlebotomy, X-ray, and medical assistant credentials.
