Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide critical care to pediatric patients in a dynamic Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) setting. This role involves delivering compassionate, high-quality nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents with a variety of complex medical and surgical conditions. As a PICU nurse, you will handle a range of responsibilities including respiratory support, trauma care, post-operative management, and specialized therapies such as ECMO and CRRT.

Shift & Schedule:

  • Primarily days, rotating shifts (3x12-hour shifts)
  • Day shifts: 7:00 a.m. 7:30 p.m. for approximately two months
  • Night shifts: 7:00 p.m. 7:30 a.m. for approximately one month
  • Weekend and holiday work required4-5 weekend shifts per schedule depending on shift
  • On-call availability is not required

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Registered Nurse license for SC or compact multi-state license
  • Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required; first-time travelers considered
  • BLS and PALS certifications (American Heart Association only)
  • Experience with ECMO and CRRT preferred
  • Ability to float within nursing scope to meet unit needs
  • Open to block scheduling subject to manager approval

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 to 1:3 nursing care ratios based on patient acuity
  • Care for patients ranging from neonates to 18 years with mixed medical and surgical diagnoses
  • Manage ventilatory and cardiac support, dialysis therapies, and palliative care as needed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff including respiratory therapists, dietitians, and pharmacists

This contract position offers the chance to work in a renowned Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital with a Magnet designation. The unit uses EPIC for charting and offers onsite parking with permit fees.
