A school in Saint Petersburg, FL is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher with expertise in self-contained ESE classrooms to support students across various grade levels, including Early Childhood, Elementary (K-6), Middle School (Grades 6-8), and High School (Grades 9-12). This contract position requires a professional with a strong background in delivering specialized instruction while managing student behaviors effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to meet the needs of students with disabilities in self-contained classroom settings.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Maintain a positive classroom environment that supports both behavioral management and achievement of curriculum goals.
• Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and administration to ensure comprehensive student support.

Qualifications:

• Valid Florida Educators Certificate in Special Education, with either K-6 certification for elementary roles or K-12 certification for middle and high school positions.
• Proven experience working in ESE/self-contained classrooms.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the IEP and BIP development and implementation process.
• Ability to balance behavioral management with academic instruction effectively.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
