A rewarding opportunity exists for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical care on a night shift at a respected hospital in the St. Louis area. This 13-week contract offers a chance to provide direct inpatient care on a 60-bed medical unit equipped with advanced technologies such as bladder scanners, vein finders, and wound vacs. The role supports patient comfort and recovery through skilled use of the nursing process and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for medical patients.
- Coordinate care with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold high standards of professional accountability.
- Adapt to varying patient needs including post-trauma and surgical interventions.
- Uphold infection prevention policies, including flu vaccination requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current RN license eligible in Missouri or already licensed in the state.
- Minimum of one year of inpatient Medical-Surgical nursing experience.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (ACLS preferred).
- Ability to float as needed within similar or lower acuity units.
- Flexibility for night shift hours from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, with weekend rotation as required.
Schedule & Contract Details:
- Night shifts, guaranteed 36 or 48 hours weekly (to be specified upon application).
- 13-week assignment length.
- Orientation on day shift prior to beginning night hours.
