Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field, Adapted Physical Education (APE) certification, and 1+ years Adaptive PE Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position involves delivering Adaptive Physical Education services through telehealth to support students with diverse physical needs. The role requires expertise in designing and implementing individualized physical education plans that accommodate various abilities, ensuring accessibility and engagement in a virtual format.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting virtual assessments and evaluations of students' physical capabilities.
- Developing customized adaptive physical activity programs tailored to individual student needs.
- Collaborating remotely with educators, therapists, and families to integrate physical education goals.
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting plans to maximize physical development and participation.
- Maintaining thorough documentation in compliance with educational standards.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Certification and training in Adaptive Physical Education.
- Proven experience delivering physical education services via telehealth platforms.
- Strong knowledge of physical disabilities and adaptive techniques.
- Effective communication skills for virtual instruction and collaboration.
