The Opportunity
You will serve as the key Quality Engineer for an automotive components manufacturer, ensuring compliance with IATF 16949, customer requirements, and internal standards. Reporting to the Director of Quality, you will partner closely with engineering, production, and customers to drive quality outcomes across the organization. Your Day-to-Day
- Own quality engineering for the facility, maintaining compliance with IATF 16949, customer specifications, and internal quality standards
- Lead and support investigation and resolution of customer complaints, including full root cause analysis
- Partner with engineering and production teams to develop and maintain control plans and PFMEAs
- Manage PPAP submissions and customer-facing quality communications
- Apply 8D and 5-Why methodologies to drive corrective and preventive actions
- Read, interpret, and validate engineering drawings using GD&T principles
- Utilize CMM and statistical software systems to support inspection and data-driven quality decisions
What We're Looking For
- B.S. in a technical, quality, manufacturing, or related discipline
- Proven experience as an Automotive Quality Engineer working with metal manufacturing, powder metals, or similar automotive components
- Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949 or ISO-based quality management systems
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience with PPAP, control plans, and PFMEA development
- Proficiency in 8D and 5-Why root cause analysis methodologies
- Familiarity with CMM operation or programming
- Experience with statistical software systems
- Direct customer contact experience in a quality capacity
