Job Title: Registered Nurse – Dialysis

Shift Details:
- Schedule: Monday – Friday (variable shifts)
- Hours range between: 5:30 AM – 10:30 PM
- Shifts may include 8-hour, 10-hour, or 12-hour rotations based on department needs
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Occasional Sunday shifts based on holidays
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Dialysis Registered Nurse to provide care in both outpatient chronic and acute dialysis settings. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing complex patient needs, and taking on charge nurse responsibilities when required.
Work Environment:
- Outpatient and acute dialysis units
- 24-chair chronic dialysis unit and acute coverage (8 stations)
- Floating required to other dialysis locations within the system
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care for dialysis treatments
- Perform AV fistula and graft cannulation
- Administer medications, including blood and blood products
- Monitor patients and manage dialysis-related complications
- Operate and monitor dialysis machines (e.g., Fresenius systems)
- Respond to alarms and troubleshoot equipment issues
- Serve as Charge Nurse when assigned
- Ensure adherence to infection control and safety standards
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Chronic outpatient and acute dialysis experience
- Strong knowledge of dialysis equipment and alarms
- Ability to manage complications such as:
- Hypotension, hyperkalemia, fluid overload
- Air embolism, hemolysis, disequilibrium syndrome
- Cardiac events, seizures, and infection control scenarios
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and emergency response (CPR, chest pain, etc.)
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of Dialysis RN experience required
- Charge Nurse experience required
- Active RN license (state-specific)
- BLS certification required
- Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
