Construction Safety Specialist

Location: Omaha, NE | Full-Time

Build job sites that send everyone home safe—every day.

Ellerbrock-Norris is seeking a Safety Specialist with the credentials, experience, and mindset to lead boots-on-the-ground safety efforts. This isn’t a clipboard-and-coffee role—we’re looking for someone who can walk a job site, spot the risk, and coach teams toward a safer outcome.

If you’re a credentialed safety professional with at least 3 years of construction safety experience on projects of similar size and complexity, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as an onsite safety representative for client construction projects
  • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and site walkthroughs
  • Lead safety briefings, toolbox talks, and OSHA-compliant trainings
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and client-specific safety standards
  • Investigate incidents, track corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement
  • Build rapport with site leadership and crew—earning their trust and respect

What You Must Have:

Minimum of 3 years of construction safety experience

At least one of the following credentials:

  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
  • ASP (Associate Safety Professional)
  • CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician)
  • OHST (Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician)
  • IOSH,
  • STS-C
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in an EHS discipline or related field

Completed within the last 3 years:

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Outreach Training, or
  • NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Comfortable leading safety programs in the field—not just writing policy behind a desk
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction standards
  • Effective communicator with the ability to gain buy-in across jobsite teams
  • Certifications in First Aid/CPR, Fall Protection, Confined Space, etc., are a plus

Why Ellerbrock-Norris?

  • Meaningful, boots-on-the-ground work with strong support from our team
  • Competitive compensation and full benefits
  • Growth potential into safety leadership, training, or consulting roles
  • A workplace that genuinely values safety and the professionals who lead it
