Construction Safety Specialist
Location: Omaha, NE | Full-Time

Ellerbrock-Norris is seeking a Safety Specialist with the credentials, experience, and mindset to lead boots-on-the-ground safety efforts. This isn’t a clipboard-and-coffee role—we’re looking for someone who can walk a job site, spot the risk, and coach teams toward a safer outcome.
If you’re a credentialed safety professional with at least 3 years of construction safety experience on projects of similar size and complexity, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as an onsite safety representative for client construction projects
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and site walkthroughs
- Lead safety briefings, toolbox talks, and OSHA-compliant trainings
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and client-specific safety standards
- Investigate incidents, track corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement
- Build rapport with site leadership and crew—earning their trust and respect
What You Must Have:
Minimum of 3 years of construction safety experience
At least one of the following credentials:
- CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
- ASP (Associate Safety Professional)
- CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician)
- OHST (Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician)
- IOSH,
- STS-C
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in an EHS discipline or related field
Completed within the last 3 years:
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Outreach Training, or
- NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Comfortable leading safety programs in the field—not just writing policy behind a desk
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction standards
- Effective communicator with the ability to gain buy-in across jobsite teams
- Certifications in First Aid/CPR, Fall Protection, Confined Space, etc., are a plus
