We are partnering with a precision metal manufacturing client in Clearwater to add two reliable CNC Index Operators to their 2nd shift. This is an excellent opportunity for mechanically skilled individuals with some CNC experience to specialize in precision production. You will receive comprehensive training on the 1st shift before transitioning to the higher-paying 2nd shift schedule. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate strong mechanical skills, precision measurement aptitude, and a history of consistent attendance and dedication.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The CNC Index Operator will be responsible for the high-quality, precise production of metal components following the machine setup.
- Machine Operation: Run precision metal parts after the machine is set up, focusing on production output and quality.
- Quality Control: Measure parts for accuracy using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, and other gauges) and perform a visual inspection of all manufactured parts.
- Inspection and Reporting: Identify any non-conforming parts and immediately notify management if the machine is not operating according to specifications.
- Teamwork: Work effectively and communicate clearly with other Index operators and team members.
- Work Environment: Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience Required: 2–3 years of prior CNC machine operating experience is required.
- Technical Skills: Strong experience with precision measurement tools, including micrometers and calipers.
- Blueprint Reading: Advanced blueprint reading skills are required to verify part specifications.
- Core Skills: Basic math and reading skills.
- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with coworkers and supervisors.
- Safety: Must be safety-minded at all times.
- All candidates must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
Work Schedule Note: This position requires initial training on 1st shift before transitioning permanently to the 2nd shift schedule.
