Job summary:
This role supports a contract manufacturing organization that produces precision hardware and enclosures used to house printed circuit boards for military, medical, and industrial applications. The operation emphasizes quality workmanship, repeatable processes, and reliable execution, offering assemblers the opportunity to work hands-on with structural and mechanical components in a clean manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
* Assemble mechanical parts, hardware, and sub-assemblies that form metal or structural housings for electronic equipment.
* Read and interpret blueprints, customer assembly drawings, work instructions, and work orders.
* Use hand tools and basic power tools such as screwdrivers, torque drivers, drills, presses, riveters, sockets, pliers, and wrenches.
* Perform quality checks using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify fit, alignment, and functionality.
* Identify, report, and assist in correcting assembly defects, fit issues, or equipment malfunctions.
* Maintain tools, equipment, and workstations in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
* Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve assembly issues and improve processes.
* Perform repetitive, hands-on assembly work while standing and handling small components throughout the workday.
Requirements:
* Availability to work a 4-day schedule, Monday through Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (four 10-hour shifts).
* Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience assembling metal or plastic products in a manufacturing environment.
* Ability to read and follow blueprints, customer drawings, or written assembly instructions.
* Experience using hand tools such as screwdrivers, torque drivers, sockets, pliers, wrenches, and basic power tools.
* Attention to detail and ability to meet quality and workmanship standards.
* Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive assembly tasks.
* Prior experience in manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or similar production environments.
* Familiarity with quality standards, safety procedures, or continuous improvement practices is a plus.
