A highly-qualified paraprofessional position is available for the current school year contract at a high school in Minneapolis, MN. This role involves supporting special education students in either Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) or Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities (EBD) settings. Candidates should be comfortable working in one or both of these areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct educational support to special education students under the supervision of licensed staff.
  • Assist with classroom instruction and facilitate learning activities tailored to individual student needs.
  • Support behavior management and social skills development for students with emotional or cognitive challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers and specialists to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate student progress as required.

Qualifications:

  • Must be highly qualified through one of the following: Passing the Minnesota Board Highly Qualified Para Exam, or Completion of at least 60 college credits (official transcripts required; diploma alone is not sufficient).
  • Prior experience working with special education populations preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Position Details:

  • Location: High School in Minneapolis, MN (Champlin Park area).
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 2:15 PM, approximately 32.5 hours per week.
  • Contract Dates: January 26, 2026, through June 5, 2026.
  • Note: After 120 days, the candidate may be considered for direct hire with the school district.
