ASSEMBLY TECHNICIAN, Elliott Industries

The company is at an exciting inflection as we continue to expand our existing brand portfolio and deepen relationships with new and existing customers. The Assembly Technician will be responsible for performing assigned tasks involved in the wiring and assembly of low and high voltage electrical components.
We are currently seeking an Assembly Technician for our night shift.
LOCATION: Onsite - 1509 Hamilton Rd, Bossier City, LA 71111
NIGHT SHIFT SCHEDULE: 3:30PM - 2:00AM Monday - Thursday
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receiving shipments and checking packing lists against contents of packages; put up parts when received in.
- Operate forklift to move product through warehouse environment.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and diagrams to determine appropriate steps to take.
- Performing necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.
- Making "in-house parts" and assembling electrical enclosures.
- Cutting wires and mounting terminals; tapping holes for screws.
- Punching and shearing parts as needed.
- Installing parts and bushings, and cutting/punching Lexan for our switchgears.
- Preparing items for shipment which include boxing, weighing and recording weights.
- Making shipping pallets.
- Labeling and strapping enclosures.
- Communicating with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and materials.
- Performing all other assigned tasks including tool and equipment put-away and maintaining shop cleanliness standards.
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES:
- High school diploma/GED required.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as assembly technician; experience in preparation for shipping preferred.
- Must have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a manufacturing warehouse environment.
- Must have the ability to follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
- Must have the ability to read fabrication blueprints, schematics and manuals.
- Analytical Skills and high-level attention to detail are both required.
- Ability to work within a team and independently.
- Physical stamina, strength, and ability to handle heavy equipment are required.
- Must be able to multitask.
