Job Title: MRI Technologist

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Variable Shift: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- 30-minute unpaid break
- Every other weekend required
Pay Rate:
- Local: $70 – $75 per hour
- Travel: $82 – $86 per hour
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced MRI Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team in New York, NY. This role involves performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging procedures while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and diagnostic accuracy. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in imaging systems and workflow tools, as well as current licensing and certifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI exams in accordance with physician orders and imaging protocols
- Operate MRI scanners and related equipment to produce diagnostic-quality images
- Review patient history and ensure appropriateness of imaging study
- Administer contrast media as required, in compliance with NYS guidelines
- Monitor patient condition and safety throughout the procedure
- Maintain accurate records within EMR, RIS, HIS, PACS, and modality-specific software
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team members to ensure optimal imaging outcomes
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of MRI equipment
- Follow all safety protocols including MRI zone restrictions and screening procedures
- Adhere to departmental policies, radiation safety regulations, and infection control standards
- Support patient education and address any concerns related to the MRI procedure
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Graduate of an accredited Radiography Program
- Licensure & Certifications:
- New York State Licensure in Radiography
- Certified by NYS to administer contrast media
- ARRT Certification in:
- Radiography (R)
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR)
- Maintains continuing education credits per ARRT guidelines
- Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Diagnostic Imaging
- Recent experience in MRI required
- Proficient in EMR, RIS, HIS, PACS, and MRI modality-specific software

- Strong communication and patient care skills
- High attention to detail and technical accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Flexible with schedule to accommodate variable shifts and weekend rotation
