We are looking to hire a National Sales Manager to join our MGP team. This role is pivotal in identifying and pursuing new market opportunities, ensuring a customer-centric approach in all sales initiatives, and cultivating a high-performance culture that thrives on meeting and exceeding targets.

What will you do?

  • Retain existing profitable customers for the beverage alcohol platform in order to increase annual sales.
  • The position must have knowledge of the Bourbon, Gin and GNS and other possible value-added alcohol markets.
    Collect data and analyze respective profitability of customers in order to increase profit and expand Product Mix sold to them.
  • Prospect and identify viable new customers who will provide a continuous sales stream for new fill Bourbon, gin and other value-added alcohols, GNS.
  • Develop presentations and “wrap-around” proposals to become the brand builder in partnership with branded liquor companies – partner on consumer research, brief in and develop new-to-world alcohol concepts, create pro-forma financial forecasts for MGP and customer, host them on orientation tours, attend trade shows modify and develop the “work teams” to bring the product into full-scale production. (e.g. blended whiskies, raw distillate sales)
  • Communicate with customers on a weekly and monthly basis to develop and maintain accurate forward sales forecasts as well as accurately forecast sales trends for MGPI.
  • Communicate on an as needed basis to facilitate and support sales in the Distillery Division.
  • This would include sales scheduling, customer quality and working with Customer Care and Supply Chain to efficiently deliver products to our customers. Develop and host distillery visits from customers on an as needed basis.
  • Be the voice and the Champion for your customers in your defined geographic sales territory.
  • Build and maintain Key Account Plans for your Key Accounts including goals, strategies, volume forecasts, opportunities, plans to deliver on the account and update and review progress quarterly with whole Sales Team for learning and sharing.
  • Facilitate cooperation between corporate support groups such as quality, supply chain and customer care to insure on time & on speculation delivery of products to our customers.
  • Engage customers on a one-on-one basis to attain industry & market knowledge as well as promote the interest of MGPI.
  • Use various lead generation streams to build and maintain a steadily growing pool of future customers.
  • Plot tasks and opportunities in Salesforce to manage the flow and get out on the road to prospect, visit, cultivate and nurture new business at least 25% of the time (1 week out of every month).
  • Analyze current -industry trends in the marketplace and develop strategies to compete and gain success over our competitors.
  • Attend and participate in Strategic Planning in order to develop lucrative revenue streams.
  • Survey trends and customer needs and drive the innovation agenda across cross-functional teams and external partners to achieve 75% of customers accepting new products per year.
  • Work with VP/Director to conduct market analyses and analyze product lines and the overall profitability of the business.
  • Develop standardized process regarding customer reporting, KPI’s, financial dashboards, and data quality metrics to ensure business data and reporting needs are met. Service field sales personnel on ad hoc data requests/projects. Service field sales personnel on ad hoc data requests/projects.

What do you need to bring to the table?

  • B.S or B.A. degree in Marketing or Business Administration.
  • One to two years of previous sales management experience as well as two years of dealing directly with purchasing managers.
  • Past experience in sales, marketing or NPD at a branded liquor company or distributor sales experience.
  • General knowledge of TTB and HAZMAT regulations, superior knowledge of the production capabilities of both distilleries and quality specifications of both the products we sell and the requirements of each of our customers.
