Control Systems Engineer / Power Control

An innovative space technology company is looking for a Control Systems / Power Control Engineer to support the development of high-voltage spacecraft electrical power systems.

This role focuses on system dynamics, including solar array regulation, power source switching, and overall bus stability. You will work closely with electrical and payload teams to ensure reliable and predictable performance across all mission scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and analyse control strategies for spacecraft power systems, including solar and battery interactions.
• Develop system models and perform stability and transient analysis using tools such as MATLAB and Simulink.
• Evaluate control interactions across subsystems and define mitigation strategies.
• Translate control concepts into firmware and system requirements.
• Support verification through simulation, HIL testing, and system validation.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls, or related field.
• 7+ years experience in control systems or power electronics.
• Strong background in control theory, system modelling, and stability analysis.
• Experience with power electronics and embedded systems.

Nice to Have:

• Space or aerospace experience.
• Solar array regulation such as S3R or MPPT.
• High-voltage or high-power system experience.
