Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years ER RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide critical emergency nursing care in a dynamic hospital setting located in a unique rural community. This role offers a contract opportunity to work in a fast-paced Emergency Room where multitasking, independent decision-making, and specialized skillsets are essential. The ideal candidate will bring over two years of ER nursing experience and must hold an active Hawaii nursing license by the start of the assignment.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert care in emergency situations, including managing Stroke, STEMI, and Trauma activations.
- Utilize advanced equipment such as Meditech EMR, Life Pack Defibrillators, Braun IV pumps, Philips Monitoring Systems, and Motorola Radio Systems.
- Maintain core measures and adhere to National Patient Safety Goals to ensure quality patient outcomes.
- Implement effective communication techniques based on AIDET and Press Ganey patient service standards.
- Adapt to variable schedules including 8- or 12-hour shifts with approximately 80 hours over two weeks; shift assignments and on-call duties will be determined upon arrival.
- Float as required to other units within clinical competency.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Nurse with an active Hawaii RN license required by start date.
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience.
- Proficient IV skills.
- Certification in ACLS, PALS, BLS, TNCC, and NIHSS mandatory.
- Certification in NCI and Procedural Sedation preferred but not required.
Schedule:
- Shifts vary between 8- and 12-hour schedules.
- One on-call shift per roster.
- At least one weekend off per roster.
Important Pre-Start Details:
- Candidates must arrive the Thursday before assignment start date for an employee health appointment on Friday.
- Do not accept the offered start date if you cannot meet this requirement.
