Position Summary:
The Optometrist will examine, diagnose and treat various eye conditions, and may prescribe glasses or contact lenses, working to improve their patient's vision. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. The Optometrist will also ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical records.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive routine and/or medical exams for patients.

Diagnose and treat various eye conditions.

Provide clear explanation of issues and care plan to patient.

Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses as needed.

Provide follow-up care as needed or in collaboration with peers.

Utilize electronic medical record with accuracy to document patient visit.

See add-on/ER patients as assigned, participate in call schedule.

Participate in practice and/or physician meetings as needed/required.

Follow practice processes and procedures as well as safety protocols.

Remain in compliance with all federal and state requirements.
Required Qualifications:

Doctor of Optometry degree and NY State license.

Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for travel.

Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with patients, providers, clinical staff, colleagues, managers and others.

Exceptional listening skills.

Articulate and professional in manner and presentation.

Ability to provide an exceptional patient experience by anticipating, taking action and striving to exceed expectations.

Familiarity with electronic medical record systems; proficiency with medical coding and billing procedures.

Team player who is an active participant as a team member and establishes strong working relationships with teammates and across the organization.
Additional Information:
This position requires work to be performed on-site in one or more of our medical office locations. Ability to travel to and between our office locations is required. All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Compensation and Benefits:
Ophthalmic Consultants to offers competitive pay. Advertised compensation includes base pay plus anticipated bonus. Actual compensation will vary based on individual performance.
