Job Overview

The CNC Programmer will increase our machining abilities, work with engineering to solve die-related manufacturing issues, and train personnel to operate the CNC machines. The ideal candidate is motivated, self-driven, and completes all job functions with minimal supervision. The initial focus of this position will be building our CNC Department to be fully functional and utilizing full machine capacity.

Qualifications:

  • CAM programming: 3 years (Required).
  • CNC programming: 3 years (Required); Doosan control experience is a plus.
  • Intermediate to advanced ability to create and manipulate solid models in a 3D CAD software; preferably Fusion 360 and Autodesk Inventor (latest version).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience in machining, finishing, and heat-treating tool steel.
  • Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints; Including GD&T.
  • Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and be very organized.
  • Ability to work independently and closely follow procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Should have a positive and professional attitude.
  • Available to work overtime when required.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for short periods of time.
  • CMM experience is a plus.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Program, operate, and oversee the CNC equipment, operators, and associated keep stock.
  • Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these blueprints.
  • Use Fusion 360 to 3D model and create cutting paths and program machines.
  • Train CNC operators in all required CNC methodologies.
  • Use measurement tools to ensure products meet design specifications.
  • Design and oversee production of manufacturing tooling, manufacturing fixtures, and other production equipment.
  • Ensure the CNC machines are properly cleaned and maintained to prevent downtime and extend their operational life.
  • Facilitate procurement of necessary materials and cutting tools for machining to avoid delays and ensure continuous operation.
  • Keeps all equipment and tools organized and secured in their assigned location.
