Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract role requires skilled RNs to care for patients in a step-down setting where advanced clinical skills are essential. Ideal candidates have at least 18 months of Progressive Care Unit experience and are comfortable managing complex medical cases requiring close monitoring.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Current RN license with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 18 months of PCU nursing experience, including working with patients diagnosed with COPD, heart failure, sepsis, and other critical conditions
• Proficient in managing tracheostomy care, mechanical ventilation, temporary/transvenous pacemakers, cardiac drip infusions, and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Experience providing wound care, chest tube management, blood product administration, and titratable IV drips

Responsibilities:

• Manage a 1:3-4 nurse-patient ratio delivering advanced care to patients with complex diagnoses
• Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and virtual nursing resources to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Utilize EPIC electronic medical records, Phillips monitors, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
• Participate in unit floating within the regional hospital network as required, with compensation for travel time during shifts
• Attend orientation and departmental training to ensure smooth integration into the unit culture

This contract role includes free parking and provides an excellent team-oriented environment focused on patient-centered care. Navy blue scrubs are the designated uniform color.
