Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a full-time Special Education Teacher to support high school students in grades 9 and 10 within a K-12 school setting in Fitchburg, MA. This contract position spans the current school year with a potential for renewal based on performance and ongoing needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted academic support through two daily academic support periods.
- Deliver push-in services within ELA and Math classrooms.
- Serve as an advisor to approximately 10 students, fostering consistent relationship-building.
- Manage a small, focused caseload of roughly 15 students.
- Participate in Wednesday professional development sessions until 4:00 PM.
- Collaborate effectively with educators, case managers, and support staff to meet individual student needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Special Education Teaching License valid in the state.
- Valid State SPED Teaching Certification.
- Experience working with high school students preferred.
- Proven ability to provide both push-in and pull-out instructional support.
- Strong collaboration and case management skills essential.
Employment Details:
- Full-time position, 35 hours per week (7:45 AM 2:45 PM Monday to Friday; Wednesdays until 4:00 PM).
- Follows a standard school calendar including holidays and breaks.
- Contract duration: ASAP start through the end of the school year, with potential renewal.
- Small caseload and an advisory model focused on student relationship building.
