Position Summary
The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for evaluating patients, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing skilled occupational therapy services to improve independence, ADL performance, strength, coordination, cognitive skills, and overall functional mobility. The OT works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Positions are available for both Full-Time and Per Diem schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide skilled occupational therapy interventions focused on ADLs, functional mobility, strength, coordination, and cognitive skills
- Establish measurable goals and modify treatment plans based on patient progress
- Supervise and collaborate with Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and therapy aides as appropriate
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety strategies, and adaptive equipment use
- Document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and in a timely manner
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to individualized care planning
- Ensure compliance with facility policies, professional standards, and state regulations
- Per Diem staff: Provide consistent coverage of 10–15 hours per week, including availability for staff PTO, high census, weekends, or holidays
Qualifications
- Current Florida license as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
- Experience in subacute rehab or skilled nursing preferred (new graduates welcome)
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to supervise support staff and work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
- Flexibility to meet patient care needs, including a consistent 10–15 hours per week for Per Diem roles
