Job Description

Join a dedicated maintenance team at a repair station based at Washington County Airport, where you will perform advanced avionics troubleshooting, installations, and repairs on corporate jets and general aviation aircraft. You will work hands-on with a variety of airframes and avionics systems, contributing directly to safe, reliable aircraft operations in a collaborative hangar environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex avionics troubleshooting on corporate jets and general aviation aircraft, accurately identifying and resolving system issues.
  • Install, upgrade, and repair avionics systems and components in accordance with repair station procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with a wide range of aircraft types, including Falcon, Gulfstream, Learjet, Hondajet, Hawker, Cessna, Challenger, Piper, King Air, and Beechcraft platforms.
  • Carry out avionics electrical work, including wiring, harness routing, terminations, and connector work to support new installations and repairs.
  • Interpret and work from avionics schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to ensure accurate installation and troubleshooting.
  • Install and service Garmin and other avionics equipment, ensuring proper configuration, calibration, and functional checks.
  • Perform ADS-B and related avionics upgrades and installations, including post-installation testing and documentation.
  • Support Part 145 repair station activities by following all maintenance, inspection, and documentation requirements.
  • Use personal tools and hangar equipment safely and efficiently to complete maintenance tasks on time and to quality standards.
  • Collaborate with a small team of A&P mechanics and avionics professionals to coordinate work, share technical knowledge, and maintain a safe, organized hangar.
  • Work overtime as needed to meet operational demands and aircraft delivery schedules.

Essential Skills

  • At least 3 years of experience performing avionics troubleshooting on corporate jets, general aviation, military or regional aircraft.
  • Proven experience working on platforms such as Falcon, Gulfstream, Learjet, Hondajet, Hawker, Cessna, Challenger, Piper, King Air, or similar aircraft.
  • Hands-on expertise in avionics systems troubleshooting, repair, and installation.
  • Ability to read and interpret avionics schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with avionics electrical work, including wiring, harness installation, and terminations.
  • Capability to perform avionics repairs and installations in a Part 145 repair station or similar regulated environment.
  • Ownership of a complete set of personal tools suitable for avionics maintenance work.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required to support maintenance schedules.
  • Openness to candidates with commercial aviation avionics experience.
  • Openness to military avionics backgrounds, particularly those holding an A&P mechanic qualification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Preferred experience with Cessna Citation, Piper, and King Air aircraft.
  • Familiarity with Garmin avionics systems and related installations.
  • Experience with ADS-B systems, including ADS-B upgrades and installations.
  • Past time in hangar maintenance operations supporting corporate or general aviation fleets.
  • Knowledge of repair station processes and documentation within a Part 145 environment.
  • A&P Mechanic experience or certification is highly valued, particularly for candidates transitioning from military avionics roles.

Work Environment

You will work directly on corporate jets and general aviation aircraft using standard hangar tools, test equipment, and your own personal tool set. The schedule is based on regular hangar hours with the expectation of overtime during peak periods. The setting is hands-on, technical, and team-oriented, focused on delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services in a professional aircraft maintenance facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
