Key Qualifications:
- Proficient in cardiac, vascular, respiratory, and renal physiology and pathology
- Advanced understanding of ECG, including waveform morphology and interpretation of arrhythmias
- ACLS certification and competency in cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Comprehensive knowledge of cardiac medications (generic/trade names, pharmacokinetics)
- Experience documenting and monitoring cardiac catheter procedures and interventions
- Comfort with operating and troubleshooting extraction devices (e.g., angiojet, rotoblator, laser)
- Ability to interpret hemodynamic parameters and cardiac pressure waveforms
- Familiarity with supplies and steps required for diagnostic cardiac catheterizations
- Competence in training, staff orientation, and participating in special projects or committees
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Monitor diagnostic cardiac catheter procedures and intervene per ACLS standards
- Document medications, dosages, and indications precisely
- Record catheterization events and perform ACT, cardiac outputs, O2 saturation measurements
- Recognize and respond to laboratory abnormalities (ABGs, electrolytes)
- Assist with intravascular imaging and electrophysiologic studies, and identify pacemaker/ICD applications
- Set up procedural tables and ensure supply readiness
- Maintain the highest standards of medical ethics
