About the Team
Constellation Schools is seeking a highly qualified Student Support Advisor in Parma, Ohio.
Under the leadership and oversight of the Principal, the Student Support Advisor is responsible for keeping order and maintaining a quiet study atmosphere. Will initiate their own daily assignments, follow through on matters, and use independent judgment and training to take appropriate actions to deal with standard recurring situations. Performs related work as required. Assists in the school-wide PBIS program by supporting student goals and being a student check-in person.

Responsibilities include to-
- Ability to maintain order and a quiet study atmosphere in a study hall.
- Good human relations and communications skills
- Attends PBIS meetings to review behavioral data, assist with the interpretation of data and collaborate with the team regarding the development of interventions.
- Assist in the planning of activities to promote PBIS and a positive school culture, including assemblies and rewards.
- Serves as a role model – remains knowledgeable regarding Constellation Schools' Character Education and seeks to support positive behaviors at all times.
- Keeps the Principal informed of potential student concerns as appropriate.
- May provide oversight of students and behaviors before/after school, in restrooms, in hallways and during lunch periods.
- May sit on absence intervention teams to address student attendance concerns.
- Prepares reports as required.
- Attends and participates in meetings as required/requested.
- Handles other duties as assigned by the Principal or his/her designee.
- Perform other duties as assigned
About You:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
- Valid/active Ohio teaching license, substitute teaching license or combination of training and relevant experience.
- Understands the philosophy of PBIS
- Exceptional classroom behavior management skills.
- Ability to create and implement student behavioral expectations.
- Knowledge of laws affecting handling of student behavior.
- Able to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Must possess excellent communication skills: verbal and written.
- Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; able to gather and analyze information skillfully.
- Able to maintain confidentiality, remain open to others' ideas and exhibit a willingness to try new things.
- Able to edit work for spelling and grammar, present numerical data effectively and able to read and interpret written information.
- Able to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and develop realistic action plans.
- Able to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness and monitor own work to ensure quality.
- Able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
- Able to be consistently at work and on time, follow instructions, respond to leadership direction and solicit and accept feedback to improve performance.
