Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Operations Analyst to support and enhance operational effectiveness across our organization. This role requires a strong background in accounting and finance and hands-on experience working directly with operations teams in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will leverage data-driven insights to help streamline processes, improve cost efficiency, and support strategic decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze operational performance data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement in manufacturing workflows, productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • Partner with operations leadership and production teams to evaluate and improve supply chain, production scheduling, material usage, and resource allocation.
  • Create, manage, and improve dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to monitor operational metrics.
  • Collaborate with accounting and finance to align operational performance with financial goals, analyze cost drivers, and support budgeting and forecasting.
  • Lead and support cost analysis projects, margin optimization efforts, and inventory valuation processes.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to cross-functional teams through data analysis, process mapping, and business case development.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures and process improvement plans.
  • Assist in ERP system enhancements and data integrity initiatives, ensuring operational data accuracy and usability.
  • Support ad hoc reporting, strategic projects, and operational planning as needed.


Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, cost accounting principles, and operational KPIs.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Power Query) and experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Epicor, Oracle).
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to distill complex data into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or workstation.
  • Occasional standing or walking within the office or shop, such as attending meetings, retrieving documents, or interacting with customers or employees.
  • Occasionally lifting and carrying items, typically weighing up to 10-20 pounds.
  • Frequent use of fingers and hands for typing, writing, and operating a computer.
  • Using telephones, printers, copiers, and other office tools.
  • Frequent need to focus on printed or digital material.
  • Reviewing financial documents, schedules, or customer data with accuracy.
  • Regular communication with customers, vendors, and team members, either in person, on the phone, or via video conferencing.
  • Engaging with customers in person or over the phone, sometimes requiring extended periods of active listening and problem-solving.
  • Prolonged exposure to hot or cold temperatures.
  • Mild noise from office machines or nearby shop areas if the office is adjacent to the workshop. PPE may be required while walking through the shop.
  • Moving around the office or between departments, sometimes requiring the ability to climb stairs.
  • Safely operate a motor vehicle.
