Job Summary
A private family in Dallas is seeking an experienced and compassionate Night Nurse / Newborn Care Specialist to provide overnight care for a newborn expected in January 2026. This role is focused on supporting the infant’s nighttime routine while allowing parents to rest, recover, and transition smoothly into life with a newborn.
The ideal candidate is calm, attentive, highly knowledgeable in newborn care, and confident working independently during overnight hours.
Schedule
- Overnight shifts (typically 8–12 hours per night)
- Schedule to be discussed and finalized with the family
- Short-term and extended contracts will be considered
Responsibilities
- Provide full overnight newborn care
- Assist with feeding support (bottle feeding and/or breastfeeding support)
- Diapering, burping, and soothing
- Establish and support healthy sleep routines
- Monitor newborn safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the night
- Maintain detailed overnight logs (feedings, diaper changes, sleep patterns)
- Light nursery upkeep related to overnight care only
- Communicate clearly with parents regarding overnight observations and progress
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Night Nurse, Newborn Care Specialist, or Postpartum Doula
- Extensive hands-on experience with newborns
- Knowledge of safe sleep practices and newborn development
- CPR and First Aid certification (infant certification required)
- Calm demeanor, reliability, and discretion
- Non-smoker
- Up-to-date vaccinations preferred
- Ability to work independently and follow family preferences
