Job Description

The Development Intern leads in gift processing, fundraising analyses, and budget reconciliation. The Development Intern is responsible for effectively using the donor CRM and related technologies to oversee accurate and timely gift entries, coordinating donor stewardship, including gift acknowledgments and impact reports, working with Finance to reconcile income and expenses, and supporting the Development Team with individual giving, grants, and special events. This is an hourly position working up to 14 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creates and manages process for story banking.
  • Creates development and communications materials that showcase the impact of the Pro Bono Center’s work, such as appeals, Pro Bono Brief, standalone email blasts, and webpage content.
  • Works with the Development Team to plan and lead donor stewardship and recognition, including thank you calls, emails, impact reports, holiday cards, and mailings.
  • Supports the Development Coordinator in maintaining the accuracy of our CRM and reviews gifts entered.
  • Creates & manages timelines for grant proposals and reports, drafts sections of proposals and reports, and coordinates across departments to ensure complete, accurate proposal packages and reporting for donors.
  • Ensures accurate grant-funded timesheet reporting for grant financial reports.
  • Supports event management in various tasks including inputting guest names and contact information for President’s Reception.
  • Assists in building webpages for online donations and online donor recognition.
  • Makes donor solicitation calls and calls to other stakeholders as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong organization and project management skills as well as experience working across departments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Must work well in a team environment and be able to interact with Bar members, donors, volunteers, vendors, the public, and Pro Bono Center and Bar employees.
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and deadline driven. Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Must work well in a team environment and be able to interact with Bar members, donors, volunteers, vendors, the public, and Pro Bono Center and Bar employees.
  • Must work well under pressure, possess excellent organizational abilities, and able to manage several priorities in a day.
  • Must be adaptable, creative, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior fundraising or grants experience.

This position is currently a hybrid position, with days worked in the office and days worked remotely.   The hybrid status of this position may change at any time subject to the Pro Bono Center’s discretion.
