Location: St. Louis Park, MN (This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence in MN weekly – only local residents of Minnesota and Western Wisconsin will be eligible for consideration)
Compensation: $40-$52/hr

Job Description:
We’re partnering with a collaborative, detail-oriented team on a Senior Payroll Specialist search, where payroll accuracy and consistency truly matter. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys owning complex payroll processes, keeping data clean and compliant, and serving as a trusted resource for employees and leaders in a fast-paced, growing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Review, verify, and document a large volume of payroll-related and personnel transactions supporting a workforce of 400+ employees.
- Enter, update, and maintain employee payroll information, including hires, separations, compensation changes, and supplemental earnings, within Deltek VantagePoint.
- Monitor timesheet completion and follow up to ensure all hours are submitted and recorded correctly by required deadlines.
- Execute biweekly payroll processing with a strong focus on accuracy and adherence to federal and state payroll regulations.
- Generate, analyze, and distribute payroll reports while maintaining clear records of adjustments and pending changes.
- Submit biweekly payroll files to the organization’s third-party payroll provider.
- Partner with the 401(k) administrator to support data exchanges, audits, and reconciliations.
- Handle employment verifications, wage garnishments, and other payroll-related compliance requests.
- Manage vacation and sick leave balances, including reconciliations and necessary adjustments.
- Process off-cycle and non-routine compensation items such as bonuses, severance payments, and mileage reimbursements.
- Prepare payroll journal entries and supporting documentation for month-end close and accounting review.
- Complete required EEO, BLS, certified payroll, and reciprocity filings in accordance with regulatory and client guidelines.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, providing timely and accurate responses.
- Build expertise in Paylocity and develop customized payroll reporting to enhance process efficiency and data accuracy.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of payroll processing experience in a multi-employee environment.
- Experience processing biweekly payroll with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Hands-on experience with payroll systems; Deltek VantagePoint and Paylocity experience preferred.
- Knowledge of federal and state payroll tax requirements and compliance reporting.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Clear communication skills and a service-oriented mindset when supporting employees and internal stakeholders.
