The NRF Foundation shows job seekers how the retail brands they shop can become the places they work.
Through our programs, people discover that retail is so much more than the parts they engage with as a customer. The foundational employability skills we provide help career advisors and education professionals spark interest in the retail industry, and ensure job seekers have the skills they need to succeed on day one. We provide more than $1 million in scholarships every year, connecting more than 80,000 learners and more than 3,700 educational and workforce partners with the retail industry. More than 300 retailers and industry partners support our work and help the NRF Foundation ensure that retailers have the quality talent they need for their stores, supply chain facilities and corporate offices. General Function
Supports Campus Programs & Scholarships team with virtual and in-person logistics, execution, data collection and analysis, and helps to execute NRF Foundation scholarship programs. In this role, the intern will engage with students, educators and retail sponsors while supporting the NRF Foundation Scholarships and University Relations team. This role supports the distribution of over $850K in annual scholarship funds to university students, making a direct impact on their futures and their career exploration opportunities.
Essential Functions
- Support Scholarships team with the promotion, tracking, review and communications for the NRF Foundation Ray Greenly Scholarship, NRF Foundation Bright Futures Scholarship, NRF Foundation x Licensing International Scholarship and NRF Foundation x CVS Health Retail Management Scholarship, as well as other general scholarship support, including scholarship marketing, application review, data analysis and quality control.
- Support Scholarships team with executing scholarship payment requests alongside NRF Accounting Team to deliver travel stipends and tuition scholarships to recipients.
- Supports in the management and review of the NRF Foundation Student Ambassador fall program requirements.
- Assists with data tracking and reports with the 2027 NRF Foundation Student Program registration.
- Serve as on-site speaker or scholarship support lead at the 2027 Student Program in NYC and support with overall event execution (January 7-10, 2027).
- Support Campus and overall NRF Foundation team with other tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- Current rising junior or senior, graduate student, or recent graduate
- Excellent Excel and data analysis skills, familiarity with reading, processing, tracking, catching any discrepancies and analyzing data with charts and pivot tables to present results
- Strong internal and external communication skills and ability to interact with ease with different stakeholders via email and phone
- Excellent written skills and proofreading ability
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly with data analysis and large-volume application review
- Motivated self-starter who is eager to learn and manage multiple projects simultaneously and independently
- Must have previously attended the NRF Foundation Student Program conference in New York City
- Experience with scholarship management and on campus leadership is a plus
- Familiarity with NRF Foundation Campus Programs a plus
- Have availability for twenty hours per week, primarily during business hours
- Must be available to travel to NYC with NRF Foundation team January 6–11, 2027
