Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk plays a key role in efficiently moving products through the warehouse to meet customer standards and delivery expectations. In this role, you handle receiving, picking, packing, inspecting, and shipping activities while maintaining accurate inventory records. You will have opportunities to cross-train in multiple warehouse functions, allowing you to grow your skills and contribute to a positive work culture aligned with the organization’s vision, mission, and values.

Pay $20 an hour on 1st shift

Very great hours starting around 7 AM.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming products, verify contents against documentation, and ensure items are accurately recorded in the warehouse system.
  • Pick customer orders according to specifications, ensuring items, quantities, and locations are correct.
  • Pack and package products securely and efficiently to prevent damage and meet shipping standards.
  • Inspect products for accuracy, quality, and condition before shipment to customers.
  • Ship products in accordance with customer requirements, ensuring on-time and accurate deliveries.
  • Verify and process customer orders in the warehouse management system, maintaining high levels of accuracy.
  • Track inventory using radio frequency (RF) scanners to ensure precise and up-to-date inventory records.
  • Meet key warehouse metrics related to safety, culture, customer needs, quality, and on-time delivery as defined by warehouse leadership.
  • Maintain the safety and security of all associates by following established procedures and reporting concerns promptly.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled, supporting consistent warehouse operations.
  • Support key warehouse areas as assigned, including loading, production, general labor, and order picking.
  • Use warehouse equipment such as scanners, forklifts, ladders, tape guns, and utility knives safely and correctly.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Essential Skills

  • Proven ability to receive, pick, pack, inspect, and ship products in a warehouse or similar environment.
  • Experience with inventory tracking and order picking using RF scanners or similar technology.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and nonverbally with team members and supervisors.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to resolve issues related to orders, inventory, and product flow.
  • Basic computer and data entry skills, including use of Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Basic math skills to verify quantities, perform counts, and reconcile inventory.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and contribute to a secure work environment.
  • Reliability in reporting to work on time and following assigned schedules.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in general labor, production, loading, and packaging in a warehouse setting.
  • Comfort working with RF scanners, forklifts, ladders, tape guns, and other warehouse tools.
  • Attention to detail when verifying orders, inspecting products, and updating inventory records.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and support multiple warehouse areas.
  • Willingness to cross-train and learn new tasks to expand skills and versatility.

Work Environment

This role operates in a warehouse environment that involves regular use of equipment such as RF scanners, forklifts, utility knives, ladders, machinery, and tape guns. You may experience bright lighting and blue light from computer screens, as well as repetitive low to mid-volume sounds from forklift traffic and packaging machines. The temperature may vary between warm and cool conditions, and you may work around various metals and typical warehouse materials. The position requires adherence to safety practices and proper use of equipment throughout the shift.

This is a Contract position based out of Manitowoc, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
