Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Interventional Radiology RN with a current CA license and critical care skills for a day shift position.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Diagnostic Imaging department of a hospital setting
  • Interventional Radiology and Cath Lab procedures are performed
  • Care for a patient population ranging from pediatric to geriatric
  • Shift is 8-hour days, 08:30-17:00, totaling 40 hours per week
  • No floating or on-call required
  • Use of Philips monitors, gravity flow IV, and multi-modality imaging equipment
  • Unit includes one CT scanner and two nursing bays for paracentesis
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Pyxis medication system utilized
  • Level II Trauma hospital environment
  • Responsibilities include starting IVs, managing access ports, monitoring vital signs and tidal CO2, setting up trays and fields, and assisting with paracentesis and CT biopsies
  • Must be proficient with conscious sedation and recovery of patients
  • Duties include administering and monitoring moderate sedation, managing Foley and chest tubes, drains, and dressings, and caring for patients post-surgical and with ascites or requiring abscess drainage
  • Ventilator and anesthesia support is available 24/7
  • Not a teaching hospital
  • No previous travel experience required but preferred
  • Must maintain a current skills checklist (valid for one year)
  • Detailed employment history for the past 7 years is required if considered

\n \n Requirements\n

  • Active CA RN license required at the time of application
  • Minimum 3 years total RN experience required, with at least 2 years in Interventional Radiology or Cath Lab preferred
  • Current BLS and ACLS required, PALS preferred
  • Experience with recovery of patients and IR Cath Lab procedures needed
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Medication administration experience using Pyxis preferred
  • Two recent clinical references from leadership covering the last year of employment required
