Grow your career in automation! Work with a successful engineering firm in a growing industry in the Atlanta, GA area. Project Engineers use electrical and mechanical engineering principles to design instrumentation and control systems and industrial control panels.
This position uses computer aided design and development (CADD) techniques to prepare project drawings including system architecture, panel mechanical, panel mechanical assembly, panel electrical, panel index, interconnection wiring, loop diagram, and mechanical fabrication according to company specifications and standards.
Willing to help you relocate to GA!
Travel is mostly local and regional and by company vehicle, typically no more than 1-2 days a week.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 3+ years of control panel design experience is required.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with technical people are essential.
• Experience with computer-aided design software and Microsoft Office software is required.
• Relocation assistance is available.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Use CADD software to prepare new drawings and modify existing drawings, as required by project contract plans and specifications.
• Read and interpret project contract plans and specifications to determine necessary control system architecture, component equipment, and functional requirements.
• Design instrumentation and control system communication networks.
• Design industrial control panels.
• Design interfaces to equipment furnished by other suppliers.
• Select component equipment, mechanical and electrical devices.
• Maintain Underwriters Laboratories (UL) standards and maintain National Electrical Code standards.
• Assist Manufacturing and Field Service.
• Interface with component and device vendors and manufacturers.
